Sisters

My older sister Meredith was in town last week, it was the first time she has been here since we had moved to LA almost 3 years ago. I was sooo excited!! She is in her third trimester of pregnancy so it was now or come visit with a baby and all the junk you have to bring along for that. It was so great to spend one on one time with her and to act like kids again.

My sister and I have had a rocky road to get to the relationship we have now. We are COMPLETE opposites and growing up that was a huge challenge. I can't even imagine all the stuff we put my parents through and the worries they had about us ever getting along. We used to let people think we were just friends because we look and act so differently. But we grew up and grew to be the closest of friends and sisters. I am so grateful for her and for what she brings to my life.

This time around I actually enjoyed playing tourist with her. Growing up we had come to LA several times as a family and did all of that touristy stuff while we were children. It was so fun to do it again as adults and to see LA for more than the Hollywood Blvd scene. I was able to take her to places off the tourist track and allow her to see why we love LA so much! We ate so much food while she was here and did a LOT of shopping. I also took her downtown with my friend Anna for her to experience the fabric district and the hustle and bustle of downtown LA. I also got to introduce her to my friends out here, which was so great to give her a face to the names of the people I share my life with here.

Unfortunately, I was so caught up in just enjoying the time with her I didn't take a single picture!! So here is an old one just for laughs...
